Hey all, I'm trying to find a variety in 5L mini kegs, and all I can seem to find is Heineken and New Castle. Does anyone here know of any stores that have more than just those two in the RI market?

There's quite a few listed there, but can't find them. I'm particularly looking for the Yellow Snow IPA

I would call Nikki's and High Spirits in providence. I imagine either of those stores could order it for you even if it isn't in stock now. Alternatively, try Julios. I've personally seen Paulaner around a few places, but never anything else.

I asked the same question in this forum a year ago after getting my Christmas gift of a 5L system. I thought I saw Yellow Snow at Julio's a few years back and asked them...but apparently the price of this is so high Julio's does not keep it stocked any longer since it does not sell. Something like $36 or $44. They offered to special order it for me if I took two (each "case" comes with two), but I passed.

Bell's does Two Hearted and other beers in this format (Hopslam as well, good luck with that), but you would need to go to NY at the closest to get these.

That said, Julio's has plenty of German 5L's depending on the season. These are kept in the coolers in the front left side of the beer section.

It's too bad there aren't more craft options in this format. I'd buy one of the systems if I could get some decent hoppy beers.

Seems like a lot of effort for a 12 pack.

Thanks everyone, I'll look into it!

DougC, it does seem like a lot of work for what it is, but hey, it was a Christmas gift and I don't want it to go to waste

Julio's has Rogue Yellow Snow. I hope more larger craft oufits pump these out. It may make it worth buying the mini tapper.

Thanks for the heads up. Cost must have come down for Julio's to carry it again, we'll see if it lasts until I'm up there next in a week or two...

They look like the standard CO2 charges that you can order off amazon or find in any bike shop, search for threaded CO2 cartridge.

Maybe the threading is different, but from the quick look I take it looks like it should work.

Thanks Doug, not sure how the hell I missed that link.

They do say I can't use paintball cartridges because I guess there is oil in those, which would get in the beer

I'd love to be living in Woonsocket. A half hour closer to the craft beer mecca of Worcester...
