Jesskidden beat me to it. "Burton ales" were dark, sweet, and relatively strong ales. I assume Ballantine Burton Ale was very singular in relation to everything else. People think it was made through the extended aging and blending of the IPA. It must have been "failsauce" then. Speaking of which, Ballantine IPA was aged for a year (?) as part of it's production. Either that beer was also "failsauce" or it wasn't a real IPA. (Relax @EvenMoreJesus , I have a smile on my face )

EDIT - I meant to quote your previous post @TongoRad

I appreciate the clarification, but still wouldn't want to drink 4yo 75 Minute .

    75 min IPA is great!

For me personally I am so glad they brewed this one once again and released it in the 6-pack format.

Especially In today's haze for daze scene this was more then just a welcome change of pace from a reputable brewery.

For me it was an incredible nostalgic trip full of wonderful memories of drinking this complex brew back when it came out and being astonished by it.

    It's still straight fire!

I just had one, I really enjoyed it. I don’t know if I’d drink it often, but I’m definitely glad I picked one up.

Honest question. I've been getting 75 min IPAs at the MD brew pub for years when visiting a climbing buddy. Assumed they just blended draught 60 and 90 min. Do they actually have a unique recipe for 75 min?

Besides blending the two beers its bottle conditioned and refermeted with 100% farm grown pure maple syrup and has an extra dry hop of exclusively cascade hops.

For the bottles it's a blend of the two with maple syrup added (I believe it used to be bottle conditioned in the big bottle format).

At the brewpub it's a cask conditioned blend of the two with maple syrup in the cask.

I'm an absolutely loving this batch of 75 Minute. Such a wonderful change of pace from all the orange juice & cream IPAs.

Anyone seen this in NY yet? Incredibly, a BeerMenus search of a few ZIP codes (including in NYC) turns up only one location, which has only the old 750ml format in stock. Plenty of places in NJ though.

EDIT: Using the DFH website 'Fishfinder' (with a 50 mile search radius) confirms the above - only NJ locations. Is NY just getting later distro, or could it not be getting any at all?

Just had CBS that was released today at my local grocery store , I know the guy , I said what’s the limit? He said for you there is none. I only bought one and shared it to tonight with my neighbor. He only got one case In. Let me tell you I’d rather have two six packs of 75 minute. I’d give them both a 4 star rating.

I'm looking forward to picking up 75 Minute.
I suggest everyone should pick up a six pack of 60 minute or a 4 pack of 90 minute when you see it fresh. Sit down and drink a few. They are great beers.

Also, if you see any hanging around collecting dust, pick up Raison D'Extra. Damn that is a fine beer that ages really well.

90 Minute is in six packs now  And it looks like they dropped the price in my area too which is great, as it was way overpriced.

I wanted something new and different so picked up a sixer of 75 Minute, wonderful beer. Mine were bottled on 10/19/18 for those interested.

Been about 6 years since last time I've had this brew. Seen it around, just might revisit.

    Cheers!

Was really stoked to have this beer again, but have been hugely underwhelmed with this batch. Even the look & feel is disappointing - just kinda fizzy and flaccid. I've tried three bottles over two nights but it hasn't gotten any better

Although I'm suffering from IPA fatigue, I've picked this up yesterday. Only because 306 bottles of beer in the basement isn't quite enough and need to make it 312.

Dunno about 120 Minute but I had a 90 Minute that was over 3 years old that tasted fantastic. Dogfish IPAs are much more malt-heavy than most other IPAs so they can stand some age to them.

I'd agree with that. Beers that are sitting the fence between IPA and barleywine/old ale/strong ale definitely have a better chance at aging well, but that doesn't mean that you're going to end up with a hop-forward beer at the end of the day, which is why I posted what I posted.
