Thankfully i didn't have time to ship my package yesterday. I had someone mule me some beer from Thirsty Pagen (160ish miles away) as i thought it would be nice to try something new. I've never had it before so i told my mule to bring me two growlers of whatever he thought was the best. Well last night i decided to try said beer and discovered that it was FLAT!!! The other growler may or may not be fine but i decided it's not worth the risk. I'll go find you something else so my package will arrive a little late but before the 8th. Here's a picture of said beer....i don't think you would have been happy with it :slight_frown:

luckily i did some QC before shipping out. Maybe i should QC all the other beers too while i'm at it...lol

That's a good idea. I'll quality control check all my bottles and recork/recap them . I'm sure my target would be appreciative with half full/empty bottles, knowing that they were tested and deemed safe.

That's just an unfortunate hazard of the growler game. I'm particularly concerned because my local growler options are either a) solid and dependable growler that I know should ship ok, but the beer isn't super exciting, or, b) more exciting newer breweries that are still learning how to fill properly, leaving the shipping resilience in question. Decisions, decisions...

yeah i could always ship a Town Hall Masala Mama but what's the fun in that. I wanted to try a new brewery that people talk about and send something different but now am out $30 dollars. I called them up so hopefully they can credit my friends credit card back. They said no problem bring them back in except i'm 160 miles away! Waiting for a call back now

The place I wanted to go for a growler fill was not open today, so I am going to try again tomorrow and hopefully get this out then!

Shared problem! I love the beer I sent, but the method of filling the growler was less than ideal. Gotta give 'em credit though - at least they used a hose and bottom-filled this time! On my first go-round, the barkeep filled it direct from the tap.

Drink that growler ASAP, Target!!!

Box did not go out Monday, but luckily for my target, I was able to get another want for him. I will go out Friday and will head to someone whom I've never BIFed in a BIF with before.

Beers wrapped and ready for shipment tomorrow. Heading way out west. To my target, sorry for my poor wrapping skills, please do not take this should not be a reflection of what is under the wrapper.

Are we playing a guessing game on the growler? Mine has the brewery name on it obviously, but I didn't mark the actual beer.

All of my wrapped bottles have little hints on them - including the growler.

Got all of my bottles now except for the growler. Thinking about picking up a growler on Saturday when I go to a brewery tour. I was going to get my target a favorite beer of mine that's growler only, but it seems they have had that already! Hopefully the brewery will have something interesting on tap!

My targets box went out today. I'm realizing I forgot to wrap the growler. Good thing it's the first thing to be opened. Enjoy. The box is traveling east.

I went the safe route and purchased a Town Hall growler since they are counter pressured. Nope it's not Masala Mama as my target has already had that before. Figured it's best to try something new.

I'll pack everything up today and ship today or tomorrow pending how much work i get done. Sorry for the delays.

Picked up my growler yesterday and boxed everything up and should be dropping the box off today.

Ended up with 3 wants, thought I could find a fourth but surprisingly could not. Ended up putting in a beer I bought while driving cross country in a similar style that has far more wants than gots. All of the beers are wrapped and numbered, including the growler, so should my target wish, it can remain unknown until the first night.

My box is headed east...but not to other coast.

My box is should be picked up today, looks like deliver date according to Fedex will be the 5th. Did a last minute switch on a bottle (was added to wants but also a reviewed beer (later on)). I'm hoping they will like the new bottle even more as it's a want. This will bring my total to 3 brewery only release bottles included.

Hahahahahaha....almost everyone who has traded with a MN trader has received a Masala Mama growler at some point. It's the go to growler to send out as it's on most peoples wants list.

On a side note out of the 7 bombers being sent one is not rated so the average score for the remaining 6 bottles are

    BA Score: 95
    Wants: 861.1666667
    Gots:243.1666667
    Ratio: 3.541466758

I hope they enjoy the box. I just have to figure out the order in which they open the bottles.
