Methinks this won't really be sour - just a touch of typical saison style funk.

I would try it if it makes it my way.

Who knows, maybe it will be a gateway to real craft beer for the "baseball stadium" drinker

So they will already be used to the cost of drinking craft beer

Let me add some further thoughts here. Stupid FFF has got the better of me today. If it means a decent Flanders or even remotely Flanders style beer that I can find for cheapish, then who really cares. I mean Duchesse is widely distibuted, which makes it susceptible to skepticism in the US. If this thing turns out to be good, then Ill buy it.

if there's a blue moon sour, it's probably too sweet, just like the original blue moon. it doesn't matter though; i wouldn't give them my money even if they made good beer, so it's moot.

I know of at least one highly regarded brewer of sour beer that spikes their shit with lactic acid to increase the sourness, and the practice is probably more common than most people think.

Sandlot/Bluemoon actually makes some really good beers. Especially German style beers.

Yeah, the comment was more regarding the "secret" (i.e., it's no secret) rather than the ingredient.

I mean, I guess I'd try it, but I don't have high hopes. Their past ventures into any territory haven't lead me to believe that it's any good. But there's no reason not try anything once--unlike some other people seem to feel.
