@Babbo AKA Rick Bonino's weekly roundup on his blog mentions a couple new players on my local scene. http://www.spokane7.com/blog/2018/mar/31/your-weekly-roundup/ I briefly met Michael Detar a couple weeks ago: Great guy, looking forward to trying his beers. Mountain Lakes will be joining Black Label on the more eastern side of downtown. Maybe Spokane will develop a second unofficial brewery district if more folks follow their lead. I'll probably hit them sometime in the second half of the month if all goes well for them and they open on time.
Hopefully the brewery scene picks up, would be nice to see some cool stuff being brewed. Anyone jumping on the haze train there? Maybe Iron Goat or something...
Local breweries started doing hazies a little over a year ago, I'd say most of them have done at least one. Like a lot of folks, they're focusing less on appearance and more on flavor as the trend continues, "juicy" is the operative word now.
Iron Goat's got a pretty nice one in bottles now, called Buzzsaw McThunder (initially known as F-Boyd or even Fuck Boyd per certain employees. It quickly was decided it needed distribution and bottling, so the name had to be changed). Perry St.'s been doing outstanding hazy/juicy IPAs for some time now, but you have to go to them for them. I've had a couple IPAs labelled "hazy" from other local players that didn't really much resemble a hazy IPA unless you've never actually had one.
