I'm out in eastern PA. Me and a couple friends are thinking about taking a trip out to Founders, Bell's, and FFF in May after the semester ends. I already know I want to pick up some Zombie Dust, so I'll call before to see what the situation is with that since I know it can sell out. My question is more aimed toward Founders and Bell's. Is Black Note ever available there, or was it like a one time deal? Also, are there any other brews those 2 breweries that pop up randomly that aren't in their lineup for distribution, since I do get their stuff in PA (except FFF obviously)?
The chances of Black Note appearing again this year is slim to none, who knows if it will be a yearly thing. They do usually have bottles of special releases randomly at the general store. (Wild one showed up again last week) I dont think Founders has any special bottles, but they do have a few special taps, same with Bells.
In these situations, I find it best to just ask the nice people working there what's really good or limited to the brewery. Most of them generally want you to have the best stuff they've got.
Ok thanks for the info. It's a little unclear what's on sale at places like Founders and Bell's. FFF is great. They update all the time with a full list of what's on tap and what's being sold for take out.
Make you a deal: you bring me a six pack of Yuengling (Make sure it doesnt skunk!!!!) and i'll hold you a bottle of Juliet.
Assume you're talking about this guy? http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1549/45368 If you're serious, I can get Yuengling anywhere out here. I completely forgot Goose Island was there for a minute. Is BCS or any variants expected to be around Chicago in May? I know nothing about GI and their release schedule.
I'm deadly serious, i'm from the east coast originally and have had a hankering for some Lager recently. I also kinda like the idea of the one "trade" i'll ever doing being stupid. I doubt any of the others will be around.
Yeah man I'll do that. I'll bring a whole case out for some other Midwest locals. I'll let you know when I'm comin out.
Bells ALWAYS has beer on draft that you cant normally get, but that's nothing new. As far as bottles, it just depends on when you go- sometimes they do and sometimes they dont.
I happen to like malted ass. That said, Yuengling tastes like a pale adjunct lager to me, and i grew up on the stuff. Nostalgia and all that. If all goes according to plan, this week.
