Thanks for the recs folks. Our plans kind of went to hell so we didn't make it to Brew Gentlemen, but I had a great time at both Grist and Dancing Gnome. I loved the sort of DIY feeling the space at Grist has.

Both had absolutely on point NE IPAs and I had a pretty darn good smoked stout at DG too. Grist had a bizarre beer that I can only describe as a NE style Gose that was really tasty if not remotely to style. Thought their Kolsch was pretty good too though I was a couple DIPAs deep at that point

Given the cost of living in Pittsburgh I was pretty surprised to see DG still fetching $17 a four pack for cans. That's on the pricey side (though certainly not the top end) even here in Boston.

Got to snag some Fathead in bottles too that was a great in a more "old school" way.

See yinz next time I'm headed down to the Burgh!

Sounds like you had a pretty good time, even though things didn't go exactly as planned.

City Works in Market Square has massive TVs and will have the games on, usually a few local IPAs on but a little overpriced. Getting an Uber down to Lawrenceville wouldn't be bad, Industry has a good taplist and will have the games on.

Also Voodoo in Homestead is open Mondays, around the same distance from Downtown as BG would have been.

Never been and don't get down to Market Square very much. Worth the trip for a local?

Probably not unless you'll be downtown. The food was good and they have a lot of taps but mainly your usual suspects of big regional breweries. They had a few local taps (East End, Grist House, Dancing Gnome) but not sure how often they have those. Most beers were about $7-8 for what looked like 12 ounces too. It's a nice place but I wouldn't seek it out if you're looking for a taplist like Pipers, Urban Tap, etc..
