What's the pricing and production like this year (sorry, I didn't read the facebook release account, and I can't look at it while at work)?

I believe the word was a double batch this year, so... if last year's was 150 cases (if my memory serves me), then I suppose it was 300 this year. However, one shop in Fairbanks got 25 cases, so.... I'm guessing it was more than 300.

Anchorage and Fairbanks prices were $30, and in Juneau it's $33-34

It seems like ABC hits the Pacific Southeast (WA/OR) about 3 weeks after Anchorage...

We're probably screwed since Shelton distributes for them.

I was told by someone at Beer Junction last eveneing that they would be getting it and would get quite a bit more than previous years. Maybe in the next couple weeks. Take that for what it's worth.......

It's sitting on shelves in AK. Last night I had the new batch and it was great. I'm hoping it comes to ptwon and actually gets sold unlike last time.

I thought they said they were making significantly more this time. Like 10,000 bottles or something like that.

The number I heard was 700 cases. Last year my store was allotted 6 bottles. This year there were no limits. I asked if I could order 100 cases and they said fine (I only took 25 cases). Anchorage has a shiny new building to pay for, this stuff will not be as rare as it once was.

    from their facebook, last january:

"For all you Deal with the Devil Freaks out there, all of the beer that was released in Anchorage has been sold:slight_frown: There are 63 cases that are heading south in about 3 weeks. Not sure where they will end up yet. We will be sending a keg down for the Hard Liver fest in Seattle. Some good news is that we are working on possibly brewing 100 bbls of this beer so more can enjoy it. There are a lot of logistics in pulling this off with such a big beer, so stay tuned:slight_smile:"

if there is indeed 100 barrels...

    1 barrel = 117 L
    100 barrels = 11,700 L
    11,700 L / 0.750 L = 15,600 bottles
    15,600 bottles = 1,300 cases (12 bottles/case)

even if there's 700 cases (8,400 bottles) as @nicole309 mentions, i don't think this one is going to be hard to find, and I imagine it sees distribution throughout the country.

Agreed. It will priced at $30 plus, so that will factor into the equation.

Yeah I'm hoping there is enough so those that want them can get them.

I have one DWTD coming to me in PDX next weekend via my bro in law from ANC. I have eight Bourbon county stouts and three of the barley wines waiting for him. Still amazed that Hollywood Beverage in PDX had no limits on either of those GI beers and that they hit the shelves two days early!

Bottles are supposedly heading to Portland. Hopefully Seattle doesn't just receive the few cases again.
