Has anyone ever drainpoured part of a perfectly good beer, just because you were kinda bored with it, in order to go and grab a more exciting beer out of your fridge to try? Kinda sad, I realize but I just dumped the last 4-5oz of a beer I rated a 4.25 previously in lieu of a beer I hadn't tried before simple due to boredom for the old beer and excitement to try something new.

Not a good beer advocate move? Do I have a "ticker" problem?

I've DP a brew if I'm too intoxicated to finish it. Yet, I've DP a good brew (Celebration) just to open a Double Duckpin in its stead. So no, I don't see nothing wrong here.

You seriously didn't have the patience to get to the bottom of a glass of beer....you like?

I think a lot of people have done that to move on to something new.

Maybe you should try drinking with someone else? If you feel the urge to dump it, you could just give it to them?

I've done this with a few because I opened it, drank half, calculated my caloric intake for the day in my head, and dumped the rest out.

Poor beers don't deserve that fate because I ate poorly that day and impulsively opened a new one, but oh well.

If you can afford it who cares. I don't begrudge the guy who wants to order one of everything at the restaurant - it's pretty boss.

But yeah it does seem silly as a human being to throw out food you enjoy in order to try other food you may or may not enjoy. Share those drain pours if you can!

I've never drained pour a good beer to move on to another good beer. I only drain pour beers that really taste bad, really bad.

I'm a bit of a ticker myself but I can only think of one time I've drain poured a beer that wasn't opened and unintentionally not consumed (usually due to intoxication) and it was because it was just bad in general. I could never see myself personally just pouring a beer out because I want to move on to a new one. My Wife enjoys beer so when I do rarely find myself in that situation it is usually fairly easy to convince her to drink it.. When that isn't an option I generally finish what I started.

No, I rarely even drainpour beers I hate. There are sober kids in Africa, finish your beer.

I don't pour out beer unless i really did not like it(rare) or someone left a wounded soldier sitting out or i was too intoxicated to finish or hold the beer. Of course it is your beer so you can do what you like.

You can do what you want but i think that dumping decent beer is just wasteful and makes me a little sad

I recently drainpoured the last 3/4 inch of a bottle of Mother of All Storms, It was 1AM and I just couldn't bring myself to finish it off and then go to bed. Nonetheless, it was a very enjoyable five hour session. Just me and the MoAS.

Beer is money, I don't drain pour anything. I don't care if I hate it. I might as well get something out of my spent money, even if it is just a slight buzz.

    That's too funny right there.
As for the OP's question, I may have spilled a good beer on occasion, but I would never pour out a good beer to move on to another beer.
If I can't finish the beer I am drinking, I sure as hell don't need another one.

I've thought about it before but haven't actually done it. The only time I'll drainpour is if the beer is infected or just so unpalatable that I can't finish it, or if I'm too intoxicated to the point that finishing it will send me over the edge. Both occasions have been pretty rare.

No. Never drain pour anything I have bought. If I dont want to finish it, I have stoppers or can put on a crown cap. I survived my first heinous batch of home brew and suffered through Sam Adams Cranberry Lambic. It would need to be pretty horrendous for me to dump out a beer.

There is, however, the legendary two ounce equivalent of a drain pour of a Shipyard beer at a tasting, though...

I have opened a beer I liked before to suddenly realize the style just wasn't right for the mood I was in. I airlocked it with a wine cork and got to it the next day. Without that option, I think I would have sucked it up and finished it.
