I've always been proud of my snozz especially when it comes to picking up different aromas. Even when I visit Tired Hands, it makes me smile when I pick up one or two of their descriptors for their beers. However, after trying one of their Galaxy hopped beers I wasn't getting any of the descriptors that they used. But I didn't think much of it, other than the aromas were more subtle in this brew.

A week or two later, I have one of my tried and true favorites 077XX, but this one was dry-hopped with Galaxy as well. Once again I wasn't able to smell anything. This affected the flavor of the beer for me as well which just seemed bland.

Granted I've only had two beers where I've made note that they used Galaxy in them. But not being able to smell anything is something that I'm not used to. No aromas of citrus, pine, or dank onions soaked in cat piss.

What are some examples of commonly found brews that incorporate Galaxy that would contradict me? Am I alone not being able to smell this hop? Am I going to die? :slight_frown:

Yes you are going to die. The mortality rate of people who consume beer is 100%.

I can't be the only BA that can't smell Galaxy, can I?

I do not know the story, but Galaxy does not lay down as far as I am aware. Galaxy is one of my favorite hop varietals, and it is huge in nose and flavor for me. I had Galaxy High earlier this year, and it was a delicious, full DIPA.
