I like to bring along a few cans (2-3). Last year it was Hop Notch (at the time, now Nosh). This year there are so many more options but I know Centennial IPA will be coming along at times for sure. Perhaps some Resin as well.

I pay all the time and always pack a six of craft cans, usually a session ipa, pilsner, or pale ale.

Played today - took sculpin, chill wave, nugget nectar. Cool, crisp, refreshing. Very much so recommended!

I don't drink when I golf, it helps me beat all the people I play with that do so much easier

I'll but whatever BMC they have to offer or sometimes will bring my own if I have any canned beers at home

I'll generally only drink if I am playing in some sort of charity scramble where I am only trying to make birdies and don't care about a total score and I am riding in a cart. I walk 99% of the time and my course has over 100 feet of elevation change so I really try to keep anything I don't need out of my bag. That said, I've been known to pack a cooler with a few beers and a sandwich if I know I am going to want to hang around a practice after a round. My course only sells BMC (they just added "Blue Moon @4.25/can lol). There is a state law about bringing your own but the course management doesn't seem too concerned about enforcing it since I regularly see the rangers talking with golfer drinking something they don't sell in the clubhouse and find plenty of empties too.

Now that is hard to believe- yours is a waste talent being that less than 20% of golfers can break 90.
There should be a "my GC offers craft beer' option in the poll. My course offer All Day IPA on the course and I am fine with that.

Most of the time, it's no beer or a couple Coors Light (to stay hydrated, since it is essentially water).

If I am less serious about a round, I might take the best the cart girl offers (although even then it's more often a BMC-ish import). This almost works for me b/c the course rarely offers the proper glassware :slight_frown:.

My golf course has Artic Panzer Wolf (No Shit) and Alpha King on tap...the pro is an avid beer enthusiast and always has at least two offerings from 3F's on....including ZD occaisonally. There are 7 taps....

    Panzer
    Alpha King
Carsons Red Dawn (another Indiana craft brewery)
    Bud
    Amber Bock
    Mich. Ultra
    Sam Adams Rebel IPA

for a golf course lounge its pretty good and makes for a nice little hangout. Of course, if you're drinking APW (9%)while golfing you're bound to be in the weeds.

I just might buy one or two at the course, just to quench the thirst a bit.

I just took over as "Beverage Manager" of my local country club (basically to get a free $2000 membership), and the club finally has a few better craft options. It was always BMC stuff with a few sub par local craft options on draft, which doesn't really help you on the course. But I just added Sierra Pale and Torpedo 16oz cans and Founders All Day. Also got us on the waiting list for Heady Topper, not that drinking those will help anyone's game..

Depends on the scenario. I don't drink every time I play. I'm in a Tuesday night 9 hole league and everyone walks, so I don't typically drink while playing - but at the clubhouse they have Anti-Hero on tap so that's usually flowing afterwards. If I'm on a more relaxed course on the weekend, playing with some buddies, and riding -- I'll definitely load up a cooler with some canned craft. If I'm playing with my father-in-law, maybe it's bloody marys and a BMC chaser bought from the course.

I don't usually play golf but, I play a lot of disc golf and we just bring our own beer since they don't sell anything at the courses around here. I would probably Still bring my own beer to golf unless they have something decent to offer like SNPA or something.

These days I play roughly once a month, so I don't take things too seriously. I just love to get out for a walk, hit the occasional straight shot, and mosey around the course with a couple beers that I've smuggled in my golf bag. I'm also not above buying whatever is on sale from the cart girl, BMC or SA typically. It all adds to my enjoyment of the game.

Change is slowly happening, most golf clubs have realized they are missing the boat if they are not pushing craft beer and are now making it a priority. If your club hasn't figured it out yet just ask them to bring in 1-2 beers for you-they usually will do it, especially if its a private club or one you play often.
I spread it around a couple Bud's, Sierra, Fat Tire then finish with a few tall Oberon draft's in the club house.
    Then I walk home!

i used to golf quite a bit. when i did i brought my own beer 90% of the time. even when i did bring my own beer i still bought beer though because the beer cart girls are always so good looking. now i golf a lot less because disc golf is a far more fun game to play(probably because im way better at it). while disc golfing i never drink mostly because its hard to carry beer along with me but partly because it has a very negative impact on my game.
