I normally start playing by 8:00 a.m. and finish by noon or one p.m. Then I'll wait until I get home rather than settle for what is available at the course. My bro-in-law belongs to a club and if you're a member, they'll stock whatever you want. Great, huh? He's not a beer drinker. Bummer.

I sometimes throw a couple of cans or bottles in my small cooler for the back nine since our course doesn't have a cart girl out there most of the time. I will have a couple of BMC's or whatever they have if we're in a tournament since tournaments are drunk fests anyway, and I don't want to be accused of being a party pooper.

Yuengling. I can put down 4 or 5 while keeping my head clear, and there's no distracting aftertaste or disgusting burpback to deal with. A Bud also does nicely. I will typically pack my own, mainly for cost reasons. However, I am considering switching to a Sly Fox canned lager as an alternative; it would serve about the same purpose and be a better beer.

I can fit 18 12-oz cans (usually Narragansett Lager and/or Summer Ale) in my collapsible Callaway cooler.

    Coincidence? I think not.

I had a golf trip in Alabama recently. We did a combination of bringing our own cans (Westbrook, Avery, etc) and buying at the course. Courses had some pretty decent offerings, like some Good People cans. We also bought Yuengling and BMC offerings. Worked out great.

Personally, on the course, I don't mind mixing up some good beer with some BMC. I'll go rounds drinking only Coors Light. I golf to have fun and enjoy the company, being picky about beer is the least of my concerns. If I can pack some good stuff that I have around, great. If they course has non-BMC offerings, great. If I end up only drinking Coors Light, great. I'm out playing golf, and not working or doing chores....drinking beer is just a side benefit!
