A Rant on Wrong Bottles Sent

Man, if I had a nickel for every time I did someone a favor and they said they were going to send something and never did, I'd have about $0.30. I even sent a guy a "whalish" bottle he was looking for to drink at his wedding, and he went on and on about how he was going to send me stuff to make up for it - never heard from him again.

I just chalk it up to there being a lot of shady people out there. Its not going to stop me from trying to help people out, and I've had a LOT of great karma come my way, so probably not worth worrying too much about. Your good deeds will be repaid in time.

 

Not getting the beer you wanted in first scenario was your choice. He offered to pay to swap them and YOU said no. Hard to complain about that. But I agree, both scenarios would be annoying.
