If y'all would do me a small favor? Our local ale trail is running their best beer of Bellingham vote. I'd appreciate a vote for Boundary Bay Cedar Dust IPA. The other 2 finalists are also tasty and worthy beers, and if you've had and enjoy them (Global Mutt Baltic Porter is a pretty damn awesome beer), feel free to vote for that one. Thank y'all much! http://www.taptrail.com/the-finalists-of-bellinghams-best-beer-of-2015/
Only place to get the Menace is at The Local here in town, so not a lot of folks have ticked that one.
Considering that the Cedar Dust is a non-traditional IPA (right?), kudos on a progressive top 3. Something hoppy, something dark and malt-forward, and something sour.
I voted for Global Mutt. Tasty stuff. Elsewhere in the Tap Trail site, that "Portland Dilemma" article gave me a serious case of "What the hell are you talking about?"
I've never been to Portland, but that article still made me scratch my head a bit. Agreed, I write the reviews for that site, but I am not sure where that article came from, other than left field? Now on to the topic at hand — I was on the fence so I had a Cedar Dust and a Global Mutt this weekend, had to go with Global Mutt, its a fantastic beer, so well balanced, dark, roasted, rich, but crisp and clean. Cedar Dust is great as well though, seriously one of Boundary's best beers IMO. I also thoroughly enjoyed Boundary's Bourbon Barrel Stout, really impressed me.
