Be careful ya'll it's that time of year again where the desperate take advantage of peoples holiday spirit. I had a package containing a vanilla rye stolen from my porch, or by the driver. the original eta said wedensday so i didnt check my tracking number till then, when i looked it said delivered monday, which seemed fast, but i had been home all day with my child who was recuperating from minor surgery and never heard a fedex truck or saw a package. I filed a complaint with fedex which ended with the driver leaving me a note to call them and swearing up and down they had delivered it monday. TLDR watch your porches carefully ya'll, or have your stuff delivered to your office which is what i'm going to be doing till the holidays are over
I read about some people following trucks and stealing packages in Austin. They caught the assholes but I'm sure there will be more.
This happened to me. Now, I always have my packages held at the Fedex office by my house and then I can swing by and pick up on my way home. Such a bummer man. Are you in Austin? Also if you ever have packages held, make sure to tell your partner. They get an email that freaks em out... "Package being held at FedEx location"
I had this possibly happen once...two packages that day out of the say close to 200 boxes I've ever gotten. I usually come home from work to get them right when I get notification that it's been delivered bc of that one time. FedEx paid out the claim on both of those boxes and both trading partners either paid me the claim money or sent a new box, so it all worked out.
I had one stolen in the summer. I live across the street from a park, and it was during the summer, I suspect teens. Since then I try to always place a hold. I've had a few left on the porch with no trouble but for piece of mind I place a hold. I hope you get another rye eventually.
Happened to me. I've had several things stolen off of the porch. I've tried to specify "leave on the back porch" but that doesn't always happen (driver's fault? Not their problem? Who knows) so I agree, have it sent to work or somewhere you know someone will be home.
I just wish they would ring the damn bell. Every time FedEx drops off, even if I'm home and sitting in my office, which has a window overlooking the front walk, they just drop the box and go. They NEVER ring the bell - is there a reason for this? I think alerting people who are home of a delivery would go a long way to stopping this kind of stuff.
This is why I like using FedEx. I just reroute to the FedEX Office on the way home from work and pick it up there.
They ring my doorbell. But the way it works for me is, the days I work from home my boxes never come until 6:30-8pm (serious) and the days I'm out working my boxes would show up like an hour after I leave. Also, I usually sign up for the alerts so when it gets delivered it sends me an email.
I get text messages with delivery manager. I get a ton of emails throughout the day so I don't have alerts for that anymore.
Yeah I get the email alerts too, so I figure it out eventually, but sometimes the alerts don't come right away, and meanwhile I'm sitting in the house with a package on the porch and no idea its there. I dont know if its a neighborhood thing or what, but I've NEVER had UPS or FedEx ring the bell when they've delivered a package.
