Is there a list and/or a web link that names the American 'craft' breweries that AB InBev own a percentage or control? I'm interested in reading some of that labels of those breweries to see just how transparent they are. Randy
I can't comment to the accuracy but here you go: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AB_InBev_brands Cheers!
I found this link. It vaguely lists 8 "owned" by them since 2011. Not real clear on percentages https://consumerist.com/2016/04/13/...-brewers-bought-by-anheuser-busch-since-2011/ I believe they also own slightly less than 33% of the CBA (Craft Beer Alliance), which includes breweries such as RedHook, Kona, and Widmer. I have never seen a label list anything of this nature since 2011
Yeah they definitely own a lot. That's why I have a huge problem with them. They are trying to get a monopoly on beer.
Damn, they're so close too, only about another 5,000 breweries left to purchase in this country before they complete their evil scheme. You may be on to something.
There is no requirement to list parent companies or partial ownership on beer labels in the US, and, of course, dba brewery names are allowed: From the above article: Well, except Anheuser-Busch, pre-InBev, had been in the craft beer market since buying into both Redhook and Widmer Brothers - both among the 10 largest "craft" brewers at the time - in the mid-1990s. As well as 49% of "Coastal Brewing Co.", the corporate name for the combined Old Dominion/Fordham.
What does any of this have anything to do with the quality of the products? I mean we still have thousands of small craft breweries that don't even put bottled dates on their bottles.
