Agreed, but these laws really kill start up efforts for brew pubs. No aspiring brewer other than Ding would wish to work with that 3.2/4.2 abv/abw cieling. The cold storage thing doesn't ring as true for me as I see plenty of beer in neighboring states sitting in big piles at room temperature (Stone, Founders, Deschutes, et al)

I vote ridiculous. The whole 3.2 thing up there, that is.

$250, it wasn't the cost that was keeping them from doing it.

Nothing to see here folks. Let the good people of Oklahoma deal with their rules as they see fit. It's probably better that they don't have strong beer anyways.

I love this. It's vague, it even feels a bit threatening (I know it's not). We'd all love to know what you do - or are you just speculating? Is there a reason you don't want to put out more info? Because this is the internet - it's perfectly OK to throw out unfounded rumors as vetted truth if you want to.

Wait! Are you suggesting that something on the internet might NOT be true? Blasphemer!

YES! And I've got research to prove it! Well, I've seen research to prove it. I read it somewhere on the internet.

I dunno... Chase has been living in Texas for a while... he might've brought some of the rebellious spirit back up north with him, Beware ABLE!

Chase is right, this has nothing to do with not paying for the right license. In Oklahoma it is against the law for an establishment (individual, LLC, or otherwise) to have a manufacturers license for alcohol production (like a brewery or distillery) and also own a license for serving alcohol. It is also against the law for a production brewery to sell directly to a retailer. This is unless you are a winery which has an exemption to both of these rules. This means that any brewery/distillery must sell their product to a third party distributor who then must sell it to retailers (restaurant, bar, or liquor store). So no brewpubs or brewery taprooms. The way you can have a "low-point beer" brewpub in OK is because it is not considered alcohol and "low-point beer" production in the state from my understanding is not even governed by ABLE but rather the health department.

Chase, correct me if I'm wrong. Also, I hope you're right about the changes.

I'm not necessarily doubting him. I was just pointing out that I genuinely loved how vague and threatening his post was. I'd love it if he shared his secrets with us though.

Um, guys? It's ridiculous because Pi Pizzeria only brews beer up to 3.141%, obviously.
