Abnormal Brewing - Summer 2017

Just curious, how much was TG selling KBBS for? I know these prices are a little steep, but I am honestly curious. That is also a 12oz bottle correct?

 

Quality over quantity is of course what the verdict is from heybeerme's perspective I don't blame him as many will be salty over this release though the fact that he acknowledges backlash will be expected for pick up dates, price & of course size says a lot from someone who is confident in this beer.

It would have been nice if this was a 500ml which most would have liked. Don't know about sharing this with a group of friends though, unless you're planning on providing them a splash as a sampler.

 

What was the bottle count? If each is a single barrel, and the bottles are 12 oz, are there like, 300 - 320 bottles?

 

Barrels are 53 gallons so that would be 565 bottles if perfect. Not sure how much is lost through aging, spillage, etc. Probably a little under 500 bottles?

 

Did they only make one bottle? Pre-made my account and the bottle dropped out of my cart in the 5-10 seconds that it took to go through the 3-4 pages to complete a purchase on that joke of a site.

 

This calculation is spot on.

 

Less than 500 bottles and more than thousands of potential buyers cause “pappy” ultra rare bruh looking to make a killing on that trade value.

 

There’s also plenty of marketing advantages to 4 different bottles...each will be considered much more “rare bruh” and people seem to have this inkling to purchase things in sets. But I’m sure neither of those factored into the decision...

Haven't checked secondary, but sure its up there. They will eventually settle for FVM '17, which should only be used to dip sushi into.

 

Over-hyping beers is almost as common as comparing DL to soy sauce.

 

After aging for two years there was probably about 50 gallons left in each barrel. Assuming loss through packaging, pre allocated bottles for the staff to purchase (usually only 10 people), a stash for archiving, the owners bottles, and my bottles (not many) I set the release for 400 375ml bottles. Not sure how many actually were up for purchase because I'm no longer there but 400 was the game plan before I left.

They should sell them all at one time. Then I wouldn't hafta have one of those rocket launcher PCs that could process the sale in +/- 0.001 ms,
