So now he's collaborating with a eyeglasses company to sell his beer or to promote the company where he bought his glasses at? I just don't get it.

I'm guessing they're not selling the bottles without the glasses?

Also, anyone that was there last night know if Makaveli / 95 til / Dino kicked?

Guy with name of "Hype_Train" doesn't understand a collab in order to release some limited edition sunglasses and a barrel aged adjunct stout.

Honestly this collab makes no sense unless the frames are made of the barrels he used to age the beer.

    He's just promoting a friends/family company.

I beg to differ. Every brewery these days releases a bottle with special glasses. Homonyms are a cofusing and they went with "sun" glasses instead of "beverage" glasses. This guy is playing off a gaff like it's nobodies business.
It was like when you were in high school and the cool kid was walking down the hall, tripped but rather than looking like a fool he turned it into the Brass Monkey.
Abnormal is doing the same thing.

Because beer and glassware go hand in hand.
Don't see the correlation between sunglasses and beer.

Edit* But we can both agree that it will sell out regardless of the ~$150 price tag.

I'm on board for the collab. I've got three pairs of 9Five glasses. They're a great local brand to SD.

Because you can't be normal without buying eyeglasses and looking cool while drinking abnormal beer. It's a new beer trend. Maybe next time he'll make a collab with his favorite pair of jeans, or his gfs favorite pair of tampons.

I can't wait for the special release that comes with a Chinpokomon.

Had a bottle of M3 tonight. While I thoroughly liked it, I think the adjuncts have faded too much over time, and if Abnormal was going to hold back bottles they probably should have done the sale sooner.

I've been to their taproom a couple times these last few weeks. Maple Mornings could be mistaken for actual maple syrup if smelled while blindfolded. The Mocha Stout would be a proper substitute for coffee if it didn't have alcohol.

The bottle of M3, by comparison, lacked the intense nose and this translated into somewhat muted flavors. Now, this wasn't all bad. I am sensitive to very sweet stouts, and thought Abnormal's previews lacked restraint, while M3 presented the classic stout flavors, at a high level, without overwhelming the pallet. It just needed more intensity, even for my taste in stouts, which it would have had a couple months back. And for that matter, I suspect Abnormal's previews would be perfect after being bottled and aged three months or so in a cellar. So, I still look forward to them. If only a $120 pair of glasses wasn't attached to the purchase...

Also, did any one else get a cat urine aroma from 95 'Til Infinity? A friend pointed it out to me, and once he did, it became incredibly obvious.

Maple mornings is awesome. That pure collab with maple syrup from about a month ago was... disappointing. By comparison there was negative 1 million maple syrups detectable. $18 for a mediocre non bba stout. Still bitter.

Going to agree with you. The M3 I had last week was already a shadow of what I remember when it was fresh. I never had M2 fresh but the pour I got at their anni party tasted muted and slightly oxidized as well. I love most all the stouts they've put out lately, but it seems like the M# series beers need to be drank fresh.

$145 for a ba beer and non polarized sunglasses that you can't even pick? Even if I could pick any pair, all their glasses are covered in gold trim. Sunglasses are such a personal thing. They might as well pair if with a cologne.

The comments of hatred towards abnormal is hilarious. Maybe people are tired of seeing such bullshit ploys to buy hyped beer..just maybe..

Was this a bottle you saved or got at Liberty Station? If it was a bottle you'd been saving, maybe a difference in storage conditions was responsible for it still tasting the same.
