I found myself with a permanent grin while reading through all of the awesome offerings this year. Also, with all of the high gravity offerings, my decision to bike there is completely validated. Looks like lots of great beers to help keep us warm in the rain that they're forecasting.

Very solid lineup this year. A lot of sours which makes me very happy! Also looking forward to Syx variant (which I wont get to try due to the ridiculous line for Surly special releases and my impatience) BB9k (sooooo good), blacknote, Russian roulette, fresh hop beers, lots of coffee beers, mmm. There seems to be a lot of cherry beers this year. I think there were like 6+ cherry stouts in the program.

This is going to take every a lot to get me through the NIN concert later that night... its going to be a rough Sunday. I can tell already...

One gripe; I dont remember Founders ever bringing anything interesting, this year included. They always seem to shrug ABR off... (If i forgot something remind me, but I feel like they always bring FBS and something else) I know they have a lot of kegs in town for pre-abr bar events like KBS, doom, and bolt cutter, but comon, bring them to ABR!

Yeah...we went to see Bob Mould at First Ave after ABR &, well, I was a little woozy. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more if I could recall it all clearly. :astonished:

Careful though... I learned the hard way last year that biking very drunk can be harmful. Rib injuries are extremely painful. :grimacing:

Same here, wasn't worth it to me though. Too expensive after paying $35 in 2005 to see them in an old Movie Theater with the Dresden Dolls in San Francisco. I do think I'll throw down a cigar that night though :-D

I was a little hesitant, knowing I wont be in the greatest shape, but Lights In The Sky (2009 tour?) was probably the best concert Ive ever been to. The only thing that would be cooler is if NIN performed at ABR. But I agree that $120 is F-ing ridiculous...yet I bought a ticket with no hesitation...damn. Trent has me by the balls.

OH MAN NIN at ABR hell yea...ha.
Yea he's got me too, I wasted $20 on the deluxe ed of the new CD. It's the prettiest coaster I own (although the art book in there is beautiful).

I'm disappointed with Founders too. I can understand not bringing some of their more rare beers but only bringing 2 options? It wouldn't be that difficult to add Centennial and Porter to their booth. Let's hope Founders has more beer options but just didn't know them early enough for the program. I'll check their booth and hope to be surprised.

What is the story about out of state brewery's being able to pour at events in MN, if they are not distributed in MN? I may be wrong, but I see a couple on the list that I do not think are distributed in MN. And when I say "story," I mean what are the legal aspects to doing this? I had tried to do an event in CA with a couple of breweries from out of state and to do it legally, we had to go through the whole approval process and it ended up being more effort on their part than it was worth (although later on, Firestone started their Invitational, which has loads of breweries not distributed in CA). So is there a loophole or is it just completely OK to pour any beer from anywhere, at an event in MN? I understand from a business perspective, that it doesn't make much sense for a brewery, unless they have an imminent intention of entering the market, but I am just curious how it can be done. And a couple of examples from this event that I have never seen in MN would be Crazy Mountain and Millstream.

I can't answer your question, but Millstream is definitely distributed here.

Really? I have even been looking for them for their Oktoberfest. Any stores come to mind as to where I could pick them up around MPLS?
