I agree, I was a bit underwhelmed with PtE, I get that its super smooth and well balanced for the style, but I prefer my Doubles to pack a little punch. I found that with HT has such a full and complex body, you almost don't realize how great it is until you move on to your next beer, and it tastes like water ( I went HT then Sculpin).
Abrasive is a grapefruit bomb I look forward to consuming in mass quantities, Only wish the price would lower a bit, maybe with the new brewery?

Has the price point talk been beat to death? Can anyone give me the Cliff notes version?

I actually drank yours right away (extra tasty I might add, thanks again for the hookup). A buddy of mine just came back from cali and brought back a nice collection. The PtE was about 3 weeks old in this case.

Surly Abrasive is expensive and delicious.

Anyone know if it's in the Maple Grove area? I've called a couple places with no luck so far.

Not that I know of, everyone got pretty limited stock for the first delivery. If you can't find anything let me know as I'm I live in Maple Grove and have at least an extra 4 pack.

For anyone who doesn't want to play the "what store in Maple Grove" game, Princeton's just posted they should have more today.

Bill also said that all Surly 4 packs except Coffee Bender and Abrasive are $8.99 for the month of November.

    Cheers!

    FYI....Abrasive is heaven on earth!

Picked some up today at Cellars in Eagan (Cliff Rd). $15.99 ($17.53 with tax). Will enjoy tomorrow as today is International Stout Day.

I hope with Chicago getting Surly distribution later this month, that doesn't mean Abrasive will be harder to come by in the Twin Cities from now on. I love being able to pop up there and find it with easy during winter months.

I've been lucky enough to try PtE that was only a few days old, and I've had it on tap in San Fran. It's remarkable. And while I consider to Abrasive to be my favorite because it's a grapefruit bomb which I love, I do think fresh PtE and Heady are just a fraction above Abrasive in overall complexity. that's just my opinion of course!

Never had draft but have had PtE bottles under 7 days old several times. Abrasive > PtE :-D

I've had both bottles and draft several times and would definitely agree that Abrasive is better than PtE. Still looking for my first Heady experience though.

Also to add, I'm in the camp that likes Blind Pig better than PtE.

Not sure if it will hit Chicago or not? Just thinking that if it does, that will mean less for MN. :slight_frown:

Heady is like wave after wave of flavors hitting your tongue, truly unlike any IPA I've ever had. That said, I've only ever had one can. Hope to have more in the near future.
