Already come and gone at Binny's, Beer Temple, and Capones. Anybody have any other ideas where it might be coming?

Someone coming in and posting it on BA, probably will not increase your chances.

Fischman's is having an Abraxas event Wednesday 11/19. I think they said it starts at 6 pm. Approximately 6 cases available.

Word on the street is Chicago will be getting it, but not the burbs. Which doesn't make sense since last year we saw abraxas in the burbs.

Not that things can't just "not make sense" without reason, but didn't Perennial switch distributors within the last year?

The Binnys in Glen Ellyn said that only two Binnys and a handful of stores in the City were getting it this year and the allocations were way down from last year.

do 50 unemployed beer nerds live 2 miles from orland park binnys? Is there any release they have that doesn't sell out in one hour?

I'd be surprised if it was that few. I'm constantly amazed (though I no longer should be) how quickly things sell out during the 9-5 hours.

Orland seems like the worst Binnys, as far as burbs go, as far as time goes before anything limited sells out. Whether It be quantity received or just people dropping whatever they are doing as soon as they announce anything.

It's a good beer, but the hype around Abraxas is out of hand.

I had a day off when Plainfield Binny's was getting BA Darkness. Went at about 11:45 AM to see if it had arrived. 15 people already lined up in the beer dept waiting. I took an informal poll while eavesdropping..er, standing in line. Most were in their 20's and working afternoons in retail. There was one 3rd shifter, three sales people that were "waiting for a meeting to start". There were only a couple who stayed through their lunch. I think the way some jobs are these days, people have a lot of flexibility to go out for 30-60 minutes to get beer when they see the tweet...and they are on top of the tweet/have already got some inside info from "their beer guy".

Ive been lucky at Orland Binnys a lot. I work full time at a 1500-2300 second shift job. I only really go up when there is good Pipework release. I did Darkness at binnys last year and was able to get 2 bottles but decided to go to MN for the actual event this year so it would be selfish for me to score some more.

I've heard the same thing and everything I've seen has backed it up.

Distro seems to be all over the place on this one. Orland Park and Highland Park Binnys got it, yet Lakeview (yesterday when I was there) said they were getting skipped. Dunno...

A ton, eh? Whatever "a ton" means they were out last night as well. :-)

Care to contribute to the conversation? Are you saying that what I've observed while out looking for this beer is wrong? I personally haven't found it in the suburbs at all. That is at Binny's, Sals Beverage world, Foremost liquors along with other craft beer shops. Is there somewhere else I should be looking?
