You could say that about KBS and a handful of other limited releases. It's gotten absurd.

This is craziness. I'm shocked at the number of people that can get to a Binnys in 20 minutes at noon on a Thursday based on a tweet. Even if I was home and not at work I couldn't have gotten out the door and to the Binnys in 20 minutes without running every stoplight along the way. Not saying I know a better way to release these things but I'm always shocked...

I never said I agree with the way these things work, I'm just lucky enough to work 10 minutes away from Binny's and knew it would be coming on Thursday.
I wish it was different and supply better met demand, but limited supply on highly hyped products is what keeps stores selling the stuff that sits on the shelf.

Yeah, it can be a little disheartening. It's gotten to the point where for some of these things, no matter what you do, you will not be able to get the beer before it's sold out, unless you live next to the place. It's also part of the reason that I've gotten incredibly picky on the stout and ba stout releases; it's pretty stressful trying to track down Black Note, the Abyss, Abraxas, Parabola, BCBS, KBS, etc. etc. etc. (not to mention expensive!).

I work on the opposite side of Oak Brook mall from the new Binny's that opened up there. If I'm not in a meeting, I can be over there in about 5 minutes or so. A lot of Binny's are like this, I'm guessing: near enough to offices that people like me can be there and back before other people even get to the store.

Just because people are at work doesn't mean they're chained to their desks. Lots of us with the spare cash to toss at luxury beer probably work 50+ hours each week, so no one cares when we disappear for 15-30 minutes.

No doubt. Exhibit 1,000,000 just a few minutes ago. Fear of missing out has gone beyond the bounds of rational thought.

Please tell me that isn't a line for fucking Dino S'Mores.

You know, the same Dino S'Mores that everyone could walk up and get a BA version of a FOBAB last week while people freaked out over BA Abraxas...

And, what, half of that is going to trades and most of the remainder will rot in their "cellars"? Yeah, this is stupid.
