When and where are they tapping variants around Chicago?

 

Total opposite. I thought '16 was dominated by cinnamon that I plan to let fade over time.

 

I'd disagree, but I wouldn't say either way boozy and hot. Nothing boozy about either. Big difference to me was that '16 was way more cinnamon forward, while '14 was more subdued. Due to that, I preferred '14. Either way, I'm starting to lose some of my love for Abraxas - just not quite my style anymore, I think.

Put me in the '14 group as well. Both times I've had Abraxas relatively fresh, it was too cinnamon/spice forward for my taste. '14 had mellowed nicely and was more enjoyable.

 

Anyone know if they sold out at binnys last night? Either kegs and/or bottles.

 

kegs were gone pretty early. I was in line and I didnt even get to buy a pour.

 

Damn. What about bottles? Anyone know?

 

Bottles are for sure gone. When I left around 6:30, the number of bottles they had out were dwindling and there was still a sizable line.

 

Yeah, I showed up around 7 and they were sold out of everything.

So when can we expect it to hit other stores? Other Binnys?

HAH! I did the exact same thing. I was browsing the beers for maybe 10 minutes until I looked over by the tasting room and realized that I done messed up.

 

I stopped in at Binnys South Loop earlier and apparently they went through all of theirs yesterday as well.. likewise with Whole Foods in the west loop, guy said they got a single case last night and flew through it.

 

Grabbed the last bottle at the Mokena Binny's last night around 5:30ish.

 

Just got a bottle at Binny's Logan Square. Not sure how many are left.

 

Bottles and Cans had 3.5 cases as of 4:30 PM.

 

Got there at 5:10, down to a case.

 

I really considered asking the random lady checking out behind me who wasn't buying an Abraxas to mule me one. Decided not to sink to that level of shitlordery.
