Been dying to try this beer for a long time. What does it take to land it? Would some limited shelf beers do it if the $4$ is right? Thinking some some combo of Consecration, Kiwi Rising, and/or bottles of Pliny+. Not trying to insult anyone, do I need to look at giving up something much more limited?

I don't know the numbers, but it sounds like Abraxas was pretty widely distributed. That coupled with the taste (not my favorite, but obviously subjective), and I wouldn't give up much more than what you have noted above. Good, limited locals should get the job done.
although abraxas got good distro, it's still not available on any shelves in St. Louis... Except at the brewery where they put a 2 bottle per person per day limit on purchases
This, because all stores sell out the day they get it. Also, as of last Saturday, they are supposedly out of abraxas at the brewery as well. When I bought my bottles the bartender told me they were the last 2 they had. She said it was amazing how quickly they sold out of it this year!
A few shops in Virginia Beach received cases and it was quickly gone . I found one bottle at Whole Foods and another at a bottle shop .
