"Only $23" I wouldn't pay more than $17, that pricing is just insane. And people complain about Prairie...
It's normally €10-11. The rest is the cost of importation/extra distribution tier(s). Prairie doesn't have to move across the Atlantic.
And St. Bernardus is much better beer. IMO of course. Not that Prairie is bad, but I don't think the cost justifies the beer inside. Obviously I am in the minority considering they sell so well.
My friend and I both paid $31 each for a bottle of it. Was amazing, but not different enough from the regular abt 12 to warrant paying the price increase. I don't live in TX (Phx), but wanted to add my two cents.. Amazing beer, but not any better than the 12.
For any Houstonians looking HEB Bunker Hill had 4 bottles as of Thursday night. $27/bottle. No thanks mane.
I drank one last night. While I loved the additional complexity of the barrel and Calvados, those flavors were very subtle, and not really worth the extra costs over the standard. The extra $10 - $15 per bottle over the original was not worth it. If you are on the fence, buy the regular and enjoy.
