hey guys on untapped it says CW barleywine is 14.3 abv. Is that true for the 2017 vintage? Every other year it's like 11 abv
I have nothing useful to add, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had always been 14.3%. To me, it's always drunk much bigger than its stated ABV. After watching my wife bump into walls after having a couple over the years, I believe she would agree with me.
Well, it definitely tastes stronger than the 2016 and so is the buzz. The 14.3% sounds reasonable. Definitely not ready to drink now imo. Sitting on my 17's for another year. I'm surprised there isn't a government department to test abv levels. Not that I want one, just saying!
Interesting. I think this is by far the tastiest batch fresh of any, & I've had them fresh going back to 2009. Most of the time I think they need a year in the cellar (or four) to come together, but I love this year's fresh. Not sure how many are going to survive!
It's definitely tasty, but super boozy for me! I love a good booze bomb in BA stouts, but 17 CW BBBW caught me off guard haha =) Nice! Is there a reason why they don't put it on the labels?
