Huh. I had no idea there were such variations. I need to hit them (and the Source) up one of these days.

The bottles I had were both from the denver batch when they first hit distro. Both times they smelled like a trashcan with coffee grounds, not like espresso. The taste was coffee up front on the first couple of sips and then nothing coffee wise after that. All I could think was "what a shitty beer, what's with the hype". I'm not calling it infected, just pretty terrible. I'll give it a third chance, but if it smells like the trashcan under my sink again then I'm done.

18? That's a little high, even with the price increase this year. We had it for $15.99.

Haven't bought any bottles this year (but bought a ton last year) but had it on tap a couple times, each time it was great. Definitely agree that its better the fresher it is and surprised to hear someone describe it as not being over the top with the coffee - one of my favorite features about that beer has been that its such a coffee bomb.

And once again BBB has let me down. You guys can have it all, I guess I am sensitive to trash can scents.

Well not every beer is for everyone. I've never personally detected any trash can scents nor my other 2 coffee aficionados that like BBB, but I understand tastes differ. I for one think cilantro tastes like soap.

And if you have any BCBCS that you don't care for, feel free to send that my way

When you say "Both Biscottis", which ones? Cherry? I'll be in later for that Cranberry Vielle for sure.
