    As in, Deschutes Abyss.

Apparently bottles have arrived in PA. Anyone got any leads?

Mari's in Reading posted on FB that they will be releasing their allotment on Sat. I don't plan making the treck up there though.

I'm not sure who the the distributior is in berks county for Deschutes. All Star? But I know for a fact that it is not Muller who will be bring it into the Philly area.

Capone's has it. Or at least did yesterday from their e-mail. Might be sold out, I'd imagine.

Yeah it's gone. I emailed them about 1.5 hrs after the email came out and it was all accounted for by then. That's what I get for leaving work early and being away from a computer. haha

Don't feel too bad. I emailed them 13 minutes after it was sent and got nothing.:slight_frown:

Damn, that sucks. I guess I need to be glued to my email the day something limited is coming out.

There are some 4,000 people on that email list from around the country. It was all gone inside of 2 minutes.

I didn't think about it that way it makes sense though since capones is such a great beer bar/bottle shop.

I'm not really butt hurt over it, if I get a chance to get somewhere I'll jump on it but I'm not going to go crazy trying to find it.

Hopefully it'll pop up on draft in the city.

I picked up a couple in town, basically blind luck that I happened on it sitting on a shelf at one of the beer stores I frequent. I expect it will find its way onto several draft lines during Beer Week, and likely pop up a time or 2 before then.

I was able to get one from Capones yesterday. I responded back in 10 minutes. Just happened to check my email.

Bottles will be available at City Tap for a Deschutes' event they are hosting on Sunday afternoon. Not sure of the details other than what PhillyTapFinder has listed for the event: "In addition to tap list below, Abyss & Conflux bottles will be available." Could be bottle pours or selling them for purchase (with considerable mark-up, perhaps).

Abyss was very common on draft when I was lucky enough to find myself in the Pacific NW this past February. I'm hopeful that the same can be said for Philadelphia in a month or two.

Oh yeah, when I lived in Portland, the Abyss was a yearly release but when it came out you never had to scramble to go find it -- you could buy it at your local grocery store. You didn't have this 10 minute window to grab it, you had a 2-3 month window to grab it.

Hopefully this will be the case in Philly. Or cases, rather, lots and lots of cases

The brewing industry needs to figure out a way to stop the insane prices of Pennsylvania. Great beer should not be a rich folks thing.

I *think* I just paid 42 dollars for a bottle of Imperial Biscotti Break Bourbon Barrel Aged at Foodery today. I say *think* because I was so shocked and in disbelief when the guy rang me up that I paid it. Well originally there was also a bottle of Stone Southern Charred in my order as well and the guy said "Well this is 38 dollars..." I said uh ok let me put that back and then he rang up the Evil Twin but by then my mind had melted.

I think a Pappy Van Winkle habit might be cheaper at this point.

Is Capone's that bad? Thinking about stopping through there on my way up for the holidays this weekend. Do they have RR stuff?
