The Abyss got label approval according to TABC on 12/13. Hopefully we'll see it soon.

Is the label different than last year?

Possible ETOH level is different. Just throwing it out there.

Year is different for sure. Possibly other changes as well.

ABV changes yearly on The Abyss, IIRC.

This beer needs to come out already. I can't believe it's been over 13 months since I had last bought it.

They also tinker with the barreling process. The '10 was in bourbon barrels and the '11 was a mix of wine, bourbon and oak barrels.

Edit: percentages are listed on the bottles.

Not much difference in the labels. the 2012 is a little darker and some of the font is slightly different, but otherwise looks the same - other than the date of course. The blend looks the same as well.

Dechutes said that it is the exact same process, just clarified the barrel process more on the '11 bottle.

They can't possibly have to get approval due to it saying 2012 instead of 2011... can they? Wow.

    It's a new label.

    Gotta love TABC!!!

Ah. If I remember correctly the '10 says 30% and the breakdown on the '11 adds up to 27%. I will need to check my bottles to be sure.

Edit: If Deschutes says that is what they have always done then I won't argue with them.
