Abyss sightings?

Opened the Abyss up today. This has to be one of the most underwhelming beers I've had -- Most likely due to the hype around it.

 

I found some at the HEB on Westheimer and Kirkwood this week in the cooler.

 

Had a 2014 Abyss , last night ! I did enjoy it , but it is a very busy beer, W/ lot's of flavors of dark fruit , Plum -
Fig , Dark molasses , Red wine ,Chard wood - Dark & dank ! Not my Fav. , but would not pass it up ! A must try for all .
Let this one rest for a least 1 + year ! Cheers . . I'm still seeing lot's of 2015 Abyss around Austin Tx . !

Any Abyss hit SA? I've struck out so far hitting up Specs dezavala and Gabriel's blanco.

 

I have seen it in the HEB in Post Oak, and in Vintage Park, in Houston of Course, plenty of it too.

 

Specs off of Rayford had it as well last weekend. I grabbed some BBQ instead though.

 

Any sightings of the Cognac or Rye?

 

Are you in Austin? If so, it's all over. Most HEB's have a ton of the Cognac

Whichcraft has Rye Whiskey BA Abyss today. I picked up a bottle at 12:45 pm. They probably had 10 left. (Austin)

It must have been under $30. I bought the Whiskey Abyss and 2 single cans for $2 each and the total was around $33. SO, probably $27-28 for the Abyss variant. I had heard it was going for $25-28, so seems fair.

 

A couple HEB's had Cognac and Rye at $23.99. That's the best price I've seen so far. I love Whichcraft, but their prices seem to be getting up there lately. They are typically around 10-15% higher than most stores.

 

The impressive part is not just the 10-15% tax, but its 10-15% over the highest price anywhere else. Typically, CM or HEB or WF or Specs Twin etc will be cheaper or more expensive on various things, but you'll never find a good price at whichcraft.

However, you will find things there a week or two after they get released, so that's nice. They're opening a store in Mueller soon and I'm at least looking forward to the 30 taps!

 

Agree. Not a place I frequent but I am a huge Abyss fan and really wanted to get my hands on this variant. Was happy to pay the upcharge.

I just saw a post on Reddit saying the HEB at Parmer and 35 has lots of bottles (25 per the post) at $24

 

That's next to my office... I suppose I needed to go get gas anyway
