Abyss Sightings

You Chicago folks are lucky. I actually wanted both variants (despite balking at the price) and saw nothing in Milwaukee. I think the places that did get them are sitting on them for future Black Friday events etc. Probably going to have to trade some CW for them again like last year...

 

I think it did already. 8 degrees posted yesterday they had it.

 

Sounds like they hit Bloomington, too. Been trading notes with @flat_lander for the Central Illinois reconnaissance :-).

 

Not water boarding required either...

2016 regular is great. Not as boozy as 2015 and seems to have more roasted flavor.

 

There are TONS of the two variants floating around in Cincinnati. They even have it at the grocery store (Kroger). I rushed out to pick them up on Friday and ended up seeing it at the grocery the next day. Oh well.

 

Algonquin Binny's had regular along with scotch and brandy in the case near the front. Limit 1 each.

 

Anyone in Chicago area know if the variants are still available at Binny's LP or Lakeview?

 

Yeah I asked around in Madison but most stores don't know about the variants or don't think they're going to get them since they've already gotten the regular Abyss. I was lucky and found some variants while driving through Iowa today. $25 a pop which I'm not sure if that's typical or not, but based on the fact that Wisconsin probably isn't getting the variants, I paid.

 

Just came from Schaumburg Binny's and they had regular and brandy. 5 cases of reg 1 1/2 brandy. I passed it up because all the beer from Nov.-now took a toll on my wallet.

 

Fine, I'll answer my own question. Mostly for those still looking. LP sold out today it looks like. Lakeview still had plenty of both on the shelf, no limit (LP was 2 per).
