I came across this same issue when I dropped in at a BevMo here in SoCal and the guy I spoke to indicated that they don't have them in and the info posted on their website is for the xxiv, NOT the abyss.

Got an email back from Deschutes, says they'll be shipping to Bay Area this week. No word on why we're so far behind everyone else.

Have some friends shipping me some from Portland today. Bet I get it before I can here in the Yay Area...

It might have just been when the distributor placed their orders ... I know for mine, the special / occasional beers are just automatically added to the orders. I get confirmation when they get added, but they stay at the same date of shipping for me (usually every three weeks I get full loads of Deschutes products)

Is this going to be on a bottle by bottle basis and do they have any on their shelves as of today?

It is a one bottle limit. Bought mine yesterday.

I might be paying a bit more on shipping but I'm getting what I can shipped from friends in Portland and buying what I can here in San Francisco.
You can never have too many, right? Might be good for trades later...

My thoughts too. I just hope they dumb down the hoppiness this year.

At 2:14 pm Healthy Spirits tweeted "Firestone Walker 16th Anniversary and Deschutes Abyss have arrived!"

At 2:43 pm Healthy Spirits tweeted "Deschutes Abyss is SOLD OUT. Congrats to those who got bottles. Still plenty of FW 16"

I just saw that :slight_frown: I bet the Beer Club members reserved all the bottles.

I would say that's a pretty safe assumption.

Without giving too much away, I would recommend looking around at Whole Foods and Bevmo's across the Bay Area this afternoon- most only got one case.

Pretty much what I though! It was your post that prompted me to inquire. Thanks for the heads up

I guess it came and went. Calls and visits to several stores turned up nothing this evening.

For what its worth I called BevMo in Albany, they said they don't have it and its not on order. Whole Foods (East Bay) said next week, and Berkeley Bowl had no idea.
