I would say the only one that would trade above $4$ would be the 2010. Doesn't the 2009 have infection issues?
the 09 isn't worth a whole lot due to infection issues. agree the 2010 would be desirable as it's already a bit old and some people would need that for a vertical.
Not all of them. 4 out of the 8 I had were infected. 3 of those were spit take material and the last one tasted like a slight sour cherry stout. Although this was a while ago and maybe the infection has taken hold of all of them by now.
'06 is a whale or close to it. 07 and 08 value is far less than '06 but still definitely above a $4$ shelf beer. '09 is infected and low in value because of it. '10 maybe is slightly higher than $4$ shelf beer, and '11 or later are generally $4$ shelf.
2010 is really something right now... 2011 and 2012 are pretty easy to snag. 2009 is a crapshoot. In other words I think in total you have a slightly over $4$ in limited beers trade on your hand.
So recommendation sit on them for a bit? I've never harpooned a whale before and would like to do so at some point.
if you're goal is to trade and get something way better than you can now...it's going to take a few more years
These are never going to be "worth" a lot. Sometime around '09/'10 people suddenly realized the "value" of widely distributed and/or high bottle count brews, & started holding onto them. So while the '09 Abyss is probably close to worthless due to the infection issues, the '10 is probably a widely held item in people's cellars. You'll get good/limited distribution for them now or later. If you're aspiring to Ahab heights, you're going to end up disappointed.
this, but also if you have a 2010 Abyss right now, you have an extremely highly rated beer. the idea of holding onto this for 3 or 4 more years just so you can trade for something more rare - but not nec. any better - strikes me as backwards
