Based on my experience last night, I don't think you'll be disappointed when you crack it open. Tried it side by side with the 2011 Black Xantu, Vietnamese Speedway, Crux Tough Love and Commons Colossus. Everything was damn good, with nary a dud in bunch. Initially, I found the BX to be the best beer in my flight, but as the beers warmed a bit and opened up, I appreciated the Abyss more and more. At the end, it was my personal favorite of the flight. It's really drinking well at the present time, I have to say.

FYI, Spokane-area peeps: Enoteca in Post Falls is filling growlers of Abyss - 2013 through 2016 vintages - for $25 while supplies last.

I had a '16 last night and I think it's blending together quite nicely. Give it another try if not super impressed the first time.
Not bad for a shelf turd. Still available many places around town.

Good to know. The last time I tried it, I wouldn't describe it as undrinkable, but it really struck me as a beer that needed a lot more time.

Bend still has cases of it all over.... and Safeway has shelves full as well.

It's the same out where I live in SW PDX as well. Regular Abyss is still very easy to come by.

If anyone in North Seattle is interested, I saw about 15 bottles of 2014 Abyss at the Fred Meyer on 164th in Lynnwood.

Again? That's the second time this year for the '14 that I know of at that particular Fred Meyer.
