In less than two weeks I will be moving from the Charlotte, NC area to Acworth, GA. Can anyone lend any insight into the craft beer scene in this area? I have been extremely fortunate to have made some wonderful friends through the Charlotte craft beer scene and am looking forward to potentially doing the same in GA. Any information on groups, festivals, events, or tastings would be great!
No idea about events or tastings but here's some bottle shop options. As far as Acworth, Vintage bottle shop is in a Kroger or Publix shopping center and it's not fantastic (and I haven't been there in awhile) but they do have a small Mix 6 section and good prices. There's a few more other stores but those are the good ones I've been to. If you want to ever do a tasting or grab a beer, I'm in Cartersville until August so PM me.
Sorry to say but Acworth hardly has a beer scene at all. Hopefully you wont live to far from 75 so you can reach the better places OTP. Burnt Hickory just opened in Kennesaw and they have some promising new beers to taste. I've lived in Kennesaw and worked out in Acworth and only decent place is Taco mac that I know of. I'm just 10-15 minutes away in Marietta let me know if you need some local help
Sprayberry Bottle has a good selection. Its about 10-15 min from acworth. As far as bars go Taco Mac is the only thing decent in the area
