Just had my first Stone Go To IPA. Absolutely terrific.
My beef? For those of use who do not post detailed reviews we are forced to rate beers at increments of .25. Thought this beer was amazing for a 4.5 ABV but didn't feel it was quite a 4.75 but much more than a 4.5. C'mon, brothers...give us one more decimal point! Anyone agree or am I just being a dickhead?

I hope the mods leave this one up if for no other reason than to see the comments!

    Happy Friday boys & girls:slight_smile:

I don't see any point in making a finer rating system for 'Hads". Without the detail of a written review the individual numbers mean very little, for instance, I have no Idea why you need to elevate your 4.5 to a 4.6 if you don't provide us with some reference. If fact we have no idea why you felt it deserved even a 4.5 to start with.

I love that the added the 1/4 into the reviews, really feel it help me be more accurate with reviewing, but being a mathematician I would not complain about having more accuracy than just quarters on a 5 point scale. I have to say there are some beers that I bring the overall up a little because I feel that I the nose or mouthfeel were between a 4 and a 4.25 and I rounded down to a 4. I feel more accuracy doesn't hurt anyone, just might take an extra 1 ms to calculate once the code is adjusted:wink:

Since I don't keep a detailed rating system elsewhere, I just like to be able to differentiate....And, as far as my rating, I take into consideration the flavor(s) created in such a low ABV beer.

Then why settle for a 5 point system? Why not a 10 point system with .01 increments? (Or 100 points) Again it wont make any difference to anyone else because without some definition of what the number means only you know what the score means, to us it's just a number.

I think the quarter point is already generous as well as the ticking option with only a quick numerical rating also is generous. I can only go to untappd for a check in without a written review other than here.

Adding 0.25 increments a while back was a compromise based on member feedback, and one that nearly everyone was happy with. We have no plans in adding more increments to the rating system.
