Adding places, clarification questions

    I have a few questions when adding places. I apologize if this has already been addressin in another feed.

    1. Place Type: Checkboxes: if it's a brewery, with a tap room and serves food, check all three? Seems weird because then it doesn't show up as a brewery on the travel guides. Is the serves Beer checkbox just for taproom only and bars?

    2. English Pubs: I'll be adding a lot of these. Do you want to know the brewery affiliation if it's owned by a brewery? This is quite common in the UK that brewers run a chain of pubs. Example: The Gatekeeper in Cardiff, Wales is owned by J. D Wetherspoons (or JDW for short). Should the bwere be listed after the name like: The Gatekeeper (JDW). I find this very helpfull in distinguishing between the chain pubs and the free houses.

    Yes. Check all three. It'll show up (if it meets the rating criteria) under breweries with taprooms.
    No. Enter the name of the pub only.

    Yeah, check any box that applies.

    A lot of breweries now are checked as Brewery, Bar, Eatery, Beer to Go. If all that applies.

    As for adding the brewery affiliation, that is good information to add for the notes. As that helps the Mods out a lot. Of coarse when reviewing the place, I would also include that there. Just give it its official name though, I wouldn't add anything to that. When I first went to Prince of Wales in Aberdeen, it was a Belhaven pub, then became a Green King pub, so affiliations can change. I doubt a Weatherspoons pub would change, but you never know, but again great info for the notes and review.

    I believe Greene King acquired Belhaven

    Hence the affiliation change for the pub :slight_smile:

    Honestly, yeah I remember when that went down but for whatever reason forgot about the acquisition when posting above, but of coarse that would make sense ha.
