?

Should there be a "Miami" city location that includes Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade counties?

  1. Yes. There are a lot of cities and organizing them would make searches easier.

  2. Maybe. That is kind of a large area. Start with Miami proper.

This post is to gauge interest and see if it is possible to get an additional group added to the state of Florida under the directory. Currently, there is Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville. I know the geographic area is kind of large (not really, compared with other large cities) but it seems it would be easier to find locations in South Florida if they were all grouped together. There are so many small cities that comprise the Miami Metro area (which according to Wiki, newgeography.com, and trade.gov, comprise Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties), that having a "Miami" or "South Florida" category would prove beneficial for people looking for places to visit from West Palm Beach to Miami. The area is about 65 miles N to S and about 10 E to W. The area is 6,000 sq miles, compared to Orlando at 4,500 sq miles and Chicago at 11,000 sq miles.

To whomever creates this group and to everyone else, does this seem like a good idea or no?

Why not? If Orlando has one, then Miami/South FL needs one.

We removed Orange County and Western Mass a while back as we were getting too many requests for regions around the US vs cities. Where do we stop? We could add hundreds of regions, but I think it would eventually become more cumbersome than useful.
