Perhaps I'm in a minority of a small minority.

But then you're watering the beer down.

...mind's basically blown that a fair number of people act like it's sacrilege to add a tea bag to beer. It's a safe assumption to make that all of these people have had at least one beer in their life that was brewed with an ingredient not normally found in beer and wound up enjoying it.

I think chai tea in a stout could be kinda interesting. Its got a little bit of a chocolate like flavor to it. Next time I brew a stout I might save a gallon to mess with

Stone chai'd their imperial stout this year and I thought it was very good, even though the chai sort of overpowered all else.

I've never been a bourbon barrel aged fan (though I like bourbon on it's own) and adding Earl Grey to a delicious IPA? I guess it's all about one's palate.

That what I suggested. I'm not suggesting pouring tea water into the beer.

This sounds like a recipe for disaster. Why would anyone want to add a foreign substance to something that took time and effort to perfect. Thats just blasphemy and a slap to the brewers, basically saying your beer isnt good enough, I had to add my own ingredient.

@Alextricity Surly does cask beers with tea. I've had tea bagged furious on cask at Great Taste of the Midwest before and it looks like bender and overrated have gotten the same treatment.

I've heard this argument before, but how is adding something to a beer any different than adding salt or pepper to a dish at a restaurant?
