    Hi

I am interested in doing a 3 gallons extract version of the Falconclaws (Samichlaus Clone). I could take the 5.5 gallon recipe here https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/homebrew-recipe/falconclaws-samic... and adjust down to 3 gallons to keep the proportions the same but I wanted to pause to see if anyone had any feedback if there is anything wrong with doing something like that.

I hate having to make such a big beer on such a small scale but the mini fridge that I use for lagering can only accommodate a 3 gallon carboy. However if this works I want to make it a yearly brew since it will age really well.

    Thanks in advance

I think that going from 5 > 3 gallons is close enough that it shouldn't make a big difference. Someone can correct me if they have found otherwise, but I think you should be safe keeping the same percentages for that size difference. I think you stand a better chance getting closer to the original by keeping percentages the same than messing with it now. I'm usually fairly quick to try brewing things multiple times in situations like this though...

You'll be fine. I've done smaller batches of the recipe before without any fancy maths.

Thanks Baron and Drew I appreciate the advice!

Drew I am a big fan. I have all your books and listen to the podcast. Huge thanks for making this hobby even more interesting and worthwhile all the time!

Also your cider book helped me to stop making crappy fermented Apple vomit juice and start producing a beverage I could serve during thanksgiving dinner.

Thanks man! I'm just glad that people read the stuff and find actual value out of it! Much obliged and that reminds me I should check on the cider in the brewery!
