Was just wondering if anyone has used these before? I was thinking of using them in an ESB as a FWH.

I have a feeling that "Lord Admiral Nelson" ESB by FFF uses them- no proof- but I do know they use them in an English DIPA they make.....

    thanks!

I use them quite often as a bittering hop.....mainly in english porters and english stouts though so I can't really say that I've had a beer in which a noticeable profile arose from them. In the terms of harsh vs. smooth bitterness, I'd put them in the middle. Based on my experience (which doesn't directly map onto the style you are brewing) I'd wholeheartedly recommend using them and would love to hear about your results if you proceed with them.

Old thread, but I am actually thinking about making an ESB with Admiral as the bittering hop and Nelson Sauvin as the flavor/aroma hop. The true Admiral Nelson ESB.
