You are correct, I always have a hard time buying bottles from them. I actually just sent out my last few adroit bottles as "extras" in trades.

Been there a couple of times. Their beers are overall very good, but some missed the mark for me personally I especially liked their BA stouts (which were put in a variety of barrels not just bourbon) Also enjoyed their Black IPA (Scorpion) They are very nice beers, but the prices are steep. I think they are playing on the "nano-brewery" thing but obviously BA cost money and space and a lot of their beers are BA. Growlers (and they let you bring your own) is a much better way to go then spending $12 on a bottle. I'd advise checking them out and getting a sampler. Bring your own clean growler (32 or 64oz) to fill if you find something to your liking. I live 30-40 minutes also, so for me going there every once and a while is easy and they get good food trucks on weekends too. I can also help out and pick up a bottle or growler if needed as I get out to that area almost weekly for other things. jim

Also you can try out other breweries on the way out like Lost Rhino (Ashburn I think, made a real nice peach sour) and Cocororan , very near Adroit in Purceville. In addition, Leesburg has a couple of good beer bars.

their stuff was wild. very experimental. barrel-aged, strong.

I had the Legion and there was too much peppercorn spice for me. Love of the Damned was better - had a wine-like taste to it.

Only thing you need to look at as well is that they don't fill growlers of all their beers. On the taproom menu it will notate next to the prices which are available for growler fills

That book of bad looks gnarly @Iamjeff6 lol. Any suggestions on the current bottles? BLVK looks interesting.

The book looks cool but I don't think its worth the money, as far as bottles go right now there isn't anything that impresses me enough to spend the 12$ a bottle. I usually wait for them to bottle their newest B/A/Y/S in whatever barrel and scoop up some of those bottles.

ah very good to know thanks a lot. Maybe I should wait tell then also. B/A/Y/S sounds tasty. @Iamjeff6

I would pass on the Book of the Bad. Those beers weren't all that good. Just like most things Adroit: everything looks and sounds good but what they put in the bottle almost never lives up to the description (or the price). One of those Book beers is an IPA and that whole thing was released before Halloween, so that IPA over 3 months old. Those that are for sale are left over because they didn't sell at the original price point of $125.

I had several friends in their society last year and they all decided not to renew. I sampled a lot of their beers and found only 2-3 that were decent/good. They made a beer trying to mimic Absinthe that actually made us sick. Had another friend ride 125 miles to the brewery on a members only patio party day (he didn't know about it) to be completely denied entry to even the pub side of the brewery.

As far as I'm concerned, Adroit can suck it. This is of course my opinion, though.

Yea thats pricey @LeeEvolved Wow Im sorry to hear that. bot incidents suck. Well, I'll have to try it to see for myself. And If I can get it for Boat or 077xx thats not a problem for me.

Reston Peeps: World of Beer in Reston has 5 of our beers on draft tomorrow including LUX, TENEBRIS, TRENDY, ZERO, and PERSONA NON GRATA.

If you get down soon this is going on closer to D.C. also.

I like NIN just fine. In fact, I went to Va Beach last fall when they were touring with Soundgarden. :sunglasses:

Looks like I need to get my buddies in NJ some bells Hypeslam so I can get some of the RC and more O'Dubs! Carton can do no wrong in my eyes, or my taste!

Yea Carton is solid. Its good and bad for me. It gives me a leg to stand on for trading but at the same time its not as readily available at the shops I stop at.
