I'm having an absolute ball with this advent calendar that WomanforallSaisons brought back for me, as a completely unexpected delight, by from a business trip near Köln. I'm bowled over by the diversity of stuff, with so much of it unfamiliar to me, even as someone who's done a bit of traveling and drinking around the country. I don't think I even knew this kind of thing existed. Now that I have one, though, I'm seeing more of them mentioned on Twitter and suchlike places. What do you think of this particular lineup (in the pic), and how's it compare to others out there -- more/less traditional, crafty, obvious, what?
These things really improved, in a good way. I remember previous editions of this thing being not diverse at all, with only a few beers I'd like to drink. This one, on the other hand, has only a few duds in my opinion. Pretty solid. I'm surprised at well, when I saw the title and the logo, I was about to rant over how bad the selection is, but, nope, it's quite good. Enjoy it.
Embarrassing to say this, but I've actually consumed less than half so far... I had to be away for 4 days, been sick for a few more... but I'm not saying come 'n get 'em, because I *AM* going to taste 'em all.
You got a more diverse group. I've had only a few. I couldn't be more pleased with mine but it would be fun to mix and match. But I also don't really consume at the required pace... New Year's resolution?
What a cool way to experience a diverse selection of beers!! There's no coincidence that there a re 24 beers in a case!
It does feel a bit like some sort of unified theory of physics -- an elegantly simple secret of the universe that humans took an amazingly long time to stumbled upon.
I find I enjoy bier more when I have only have 3-4 month. Quality over Quantity is almost always better (in most things).
