DFH 90, SN Torpedo both come to mind. Maybe Double Trouble or Hoptimum for something really sweet, albeit a bit stronger and different.

i didn't find it that strong as long as he doesn't drink it all too quickly on a hot day this would taste even better

How about some Lake Placid Pale Ale, or if your feeling nice, Maine Beer Company's Lunch.

Dale's is definitely avail in MA. Mayflower Ipa is a fantastic choice. If I was making a sixer of ipas for a friend in MA, from what i remember:
    Mayflower Ipa
    Dfh 90
    21st Brew Free or Die
    Sn Torpedo
    Ommegang Hennepin
Hoponius Union came out after I left MA, but i hear great things.

    Cheers

I just was with a friend who lives in CT, and even he couldn't get Gandhi Bot, so I doubt it is available in MA. We did manage to get Sea Hag, though, and it was really nice.

Flower Power can be hit or miss around RI/MA (some sixers are very old), but if you can grab a fresh one I'd chuck that in for sure.

Yeah, 'cause guys working on roofs in 90 degree weather tend to drink beer slowly......

Both Racer 5 and Founders Centennial are very similar to Two Hearted Ale, I'm assuming Centennial is the hop tie with 2H. Flower Power if it's available it's brewed in NY but it's distro to NJ too, so Mass isn't out of the question.

There ya go, and I ever heard Susan is back and available. VT is funny you can still be in VT and still not be close to Waterbury, of course it depends on what you consider close.

Yeah...just a bit out of range for me. But good thought. Plus we don't need another couple of HT addicts, do we? Hello?

You may be right. NEBCO actually started in Mass and moved to CT and if you go on seekabrew it shows it is still distributed there, but that might be old news. Also when they pulled out of MA last summer, they said they would be back distributing in MA by the beginning of 2013, but I am guessing that hasn't happened yet. Maybe someone from MA can weigh in with an update. Either way, depending on where you are in MA, it may not be too far a ride to RI or CT where it is distributed. Or, the OP can always utilize this sites listing by styles and see what's available at his stores. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/style/116

For roofing I'd get Lagunitas Daytime or Founders All Day (I haven't had it, but it fits), if you can. It's hot out there and I don't see the point of dehydrating yourself with 6% or worse IPAs on the top of the roof.
