So around 10am 12/7/15 I will be landing in Chicago and staying near millenium park. Flying in from Tampa and will be here all week. Any advice of stops, breweries etc to spend d time at this week I am here? I'm also looking at taking the south Shore to Gary to 18th street on thursday, but if I'm going to head that way, is it out of the question to stop at the Hammond station so I could also trek down to FFF?

Staying near Millennium Park, I'd probably shoot down Randolph and check out Haymarket (great beer, good food) and Au Cheval (great food, good beer list). Haymarket this time of year will usually have some pretty solid stouts (look for Indignant and Clare's Thirst Ale, for example). You can also check out Lone Wolf if you want to go to a place with a variety of 3 Floyd's stuff.

Goose Island Clybourn is a couple blocks from the North/Clybourn red line stop, and that + Binny's Lincoln Park (directly across from GI) is always a must for me. On the topic of Goose Island, their taproom is west on Fulton, as well (pretty easy to get to via public transportation), so if you're in town Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun (when it's open), I'd check it out.

I'll let others point out more sights in the Loop, since I don't spend much time in the area outside of work, and I don't make the trek to Indiana much, so others will definitely have to fill you in on that portion.

Going to FFF from the Hammond stop will be a bit of a pain, you will need to call a cab.

I am a daily south shore train rider. The MILLER stop is a short walk away from 18th street brewery (just walk a block north on Lake St.). If you are here, I would recommend checking out 3Floyd's. During the week, the wait shouldn't be too bad unless you plan on visiting on a Friday or Saturday (just saw you were planning a Thursday trip.) You could get off at either the HAMMOND or EAST CHICAGO train station. Buy your tickets at the station to avoid a $1.00 surcharge. I would use a Uber driver if you are familiar. If not, Triple-A Cab is located in Highland, IN. and will be able to pick you up at the EAST CHICAGO station - Phone info (219) 972-4030. It is roughly a 30 minute drive with traffic.

Floyd's has some good beers on tap this week - http://www.3floyds.com/brewpub/

Let me know if you have any other questions.
