http://www.beeradvocate.com/events/info/80421/ Anyone going to this? I went last year, it's a cool spot, and I believe I had their Doppelbock and Hefeweizen last year which I enjoyed. This is the can release of 2 Year's with Dr. Nandu I think.
You are right, it's a fun spot and they do a good job of keeping it that way. I'm glad that they are doing well! That said... IPA, IPA, another IPA...meh, same song played three ways just doesn't cut it for me. I'll pass on this one. However: toasted brown on 07/05 sounds interesting! And Squeezebox Stompers are playing on 07/27 - I've seen them at Gulu a few times, they put on a great show.
Thanks for the reminder! I may try to make it over there for some music. I think Aeronaut is also debuting a session IPA called Hop Hop and Away in cans.
Picked up a couple crowlers of Hop Hop last weekend and gorged myself at the Micro Brewfest - it's outstanding. Right up there with Whirlpool and Easy Jack - not in how it tastes but in the way they all cram a ton of flavor and aroma into such a small ABV chassis. The brewery/lab/space is super cool and spacious - would love to swoop in after the line subsides but hard to make it over to the depths of Somerville and wrangle parking. Hopefully they distribute the new cans. Their stout is pretty kickass as well.
I'm going more because I haven't been there in awhile, and I'm interested in trying some of the other beers listed on tap. Just something to do, and I can bum around Union afterwards as well and maybe grab dinner. Last year my buddy and I split a can just to try the IPA, but that wasn't the focal point. If I want an IPA in addition to theirs, I may swing by Five Horse at some point in Davis, they routinely have Trillium on draft now.
Downtown Wine and Spirits in Davis Sq has a window display that says they will be stocking all three Aeronaut cans in the near future. I've also seen pre-filled Aeronaut crowlers in the coolers at Downtown.
I just finished a can of Hop Hop and Away that I picked up at CBC. I liked it just as much as Whirlpool, and more than the 2 Years with Dr Nandu that I picked up at the same time. I think it was even less expensive than Whirlpool, but I wonder if they can match Night Shift's volume.
They can't -- but the demand isn't there yet so it doesn't really matter. There space in Union Sq doesn't seem to have much room to grow either...but they really seem to be part of the community. Great hipster vibe in the place when I stopped by last week. I agree on HH&A - the best IPA from them yet. Great aroma -- gotta be some monster kettle and dry hopping going on w that beer.
