Well it was a great time. Luckily quite a few people brought their own beer and we kind of all shared. Poured the bride some Parabola and she loved it.

Thanks for all the replies even the pretentious haters. Couldn't have turned out better.

Is this a part 2 of some thread I missed? Either way, congrats on the wedding.

Yeah I had posted it yesterday but it's closed. Just wanted to let everyone know it went well.

Well, as a happily married middle aged guy let me welcome you to the fold. Marriage is good stuff with the right lady. Even better with the right lady who digs craft beer and gets it.

Ahaha. I'm already married but thanks. This is from a post where I was asking what beer I should bring to a close friends wedding. The replies were pretty mixed with people saying it would be distasteful and others saying they thought it was fine. Half the people didn't even help. They just came in trolling. There were a few people saying I would basically be a douche and it would be disrespectful to bring my own beer. It would be one thing to walk around with a bottle in my hand flaunting what I had but I simply put it in my glass that I had a drink in before that as did others. But this is a close friend (which has also brought beer to other weddings) and I know we've done this at our close friends weddings before.
    But it turned out well.

Ahhh, sorry. Anyway, weddings are notorious for having shitty beer, even the most high end weddings. They spare no expense but still only serve BMC beers. I started a thread about this once and took a lot of shit about it. But I would love to see the day that a wedding place offers great beer.

Yeah I was basically told I'm the problem with craft beer culture because I don't want to drink that beer.

Haha yeah I've noticed a lot of people on here are like rich people or celebrities who try to prove they're like the "regular folk" so they don't get looked at as pretentious.

So I looked a lot of the posts. I see the point to both sides. I recently posted that I've been to weddings where I just didn't have anything to drink due to lack of good beer. At age 43 though, I just don't need to drink at a wedding. At age 23, I did. If I was into craft beer at that age I would probably have brought beer to a wedding. As it was I did anyway when a place cut us off early.

Based on the thread title, I thought "Oh crap. Somebody does not know what to do on their wedding night and is looking for advice here. "

I'm happy to say the only beer I had at my wedding was Stone Go-to, Stone Smoked Porter, and ChuckAlek Dowser (Altbier). Very tasty and well received.

Your right, makes no sense at all. Still some last bastions where craft has not infiltrated, others are old school Italian restaurants and Chinese restaurants.

The thread title was "Beer to Crack at a Wedding." I figured you'd be pregaming with beer and then moving on to crack.

Explaining jokes makes them less funny :slight_frown:
