Julio's had 35k passed at $19 for a 5% stout. Wow that's steep! You figure a new brewery to MA would come in at a lower price. Looks like CBC West go Bo and Luke. Wonder what price is?
I've seen Citra Ass Down and the Brett one at a couple stores around Somerville. Wanted to try the brewery but no way am I paying $20 for it.
Bo and Luke seems to be moving, and fast. The others are sitting so far. I got a Citra Ass Down from a beer store beer club, It can not be good enough for me to drop the 16-19 bucks on it myself.
I bit the bullet and tried the Citra Ass Down and 35K. Got them for $15 each in VT. Decent beers, but not worth the money IMO. Will not be purchasing again. $15 for an IPA. I'd rather go to Hill Famrstead and get a growler fill for $15.
Bo and Luke is great and I don't regret paying about 30 at one of NYCs priciest spots but the 16-18 ipas are decidedly NOT worth it.
I've seen Citra Ass Down and 35K for $13 in my area recently but I'm no longer paying more than $10 for a single beer unless its something special. If Bo & Luke shows up here I will buy it.
This stuff is contract brewed in Maryland.Had Citra Ass down, good, nothing great. No where near worth 15 bucks in CT.Nevermind $19...lol. I'm holding out hope that Bo and Luke is brewed in Kentucky.Anyone?
LOL, you and your prejudice against all things contract brewed. I'm not sure where Bo & Luke is made, but I do know that it was delicious when I tried it on tap at Tørst before I'd ever heard of it or even the brewery.
If it tastes good, who cares where it was brewed? If you tasted a beer blind and loved it, but were then told it was contract brewed, would you then drainpour the rest? I can certainly imagine you doing just that.
My point is there is far too many choices out there to choose from who actually brew their beer.If I go to MA. and have a certain amount of cash.I'll buy other stuff. I'm sure Bo and Luke is tasty coming outta Maryland.I guess I just like to put my $ where I think it counts. And,I'm sure you wouldn't be going goo-goo,ga-ga for Imperial Stout Trooper or Wet Willy brewed Hooker. My thing is why not wait to do ur own thing, instead of having someone else do it for you?Even Rob Leonard would agree to that one....lol.
Bo & Luke is outstanding, but I'm of the mindset that a $10-12 splurge on a glass at a bar is better than $30 on a bottle. Just one man's opinion.
I grabbed a bottle of the Blue Stallion collab. Berwynnerweisse a few weeks ago for $12 or $13. But it seems like everything else is pretty steep, $18 or $19 or so, as folks have mentioned above.
