and it turned out to be amazing. Only aged it for 14 months but damn - it was good. Much creamier and thicker on the palate than usual.

I'm aging Bean Gene, a Ballast Point VAS, and a BCBS 13 and a Breakfast Stout. Any one have experience with those?

    Bean Gene - never had.
Ballast Point VAS - never had with any decent amount of age on it. love it fresh. there is a thread recently about aging it.
BCBS - pretty safe bet on this one and there are literally hundreds of threads on it
FBS - if you like coffee, drink it fresh. otherwise, will still age ok but muted coffee flavor

i probably wouldnt age the breakfast stout. Ive had a 5 year old VAS and it was pretty good, i wouldnt wait 5 years though.

Was the LH on nitro? I put a couple down to see how the nitrous would affect them over time. I just cracked one too and really enjoyed it. And you're right, very smooth and creamy. And plenty of carb with the nitrous.

Nope it was the regular version. I can imagine that the nitro would be more creamy than the non-nitro one to begin with.
